Presidency meeting - Ruse, Bulgaria, 11 September 2025


The UEF Presidency met in Ruse, Bulgaria, on 11 September 2025 to finalise preparations for the UEF Congress and discuss the organisation’s priorities for the new mandate 2025–2029.

Key topics included the future action plan, strengthening cooperation with European forestry organisations, engaging inactive members and recruiting new members.

The Presidency reviewed the development of UEF Summer Camps as a platform for connecting students, universities and young forestry professionals across Europe.

Financial matters were discussed, alongside budget planning and the importance of maintaining sound financial management.

Members also addressed Nature Credits and the potential to recognise and finance forest ecosystem services, agreeing to prepare a UEF position on the topic.

The meeting reaffirmed UEF’s commitment to strengthening European forestry cooperation, supporting the next generation of forestry professionals and promoting sustainable forest management.
