NATURA 2000 Fitness check

UEF organized a Round Table Meeting about the evaluation process of Natura 2000 network and the developpment of the Natura 2000 guidence docment for forests. Twenty representatives of key stakeholder organizations attended the meeting and took part in the fruitful discussions.
The key-note speaker was François Kremer - Policy coordinator Natura2000, DG Environment, Nature Unit. He made a presentation about the ongoing process of Natura 2000 fitness check.
Apart from the ongoing evaluation process Mr. Kremer made a brief presentation of the Guidance document about Natura 2000 and forests which will be published this summer. The document includes three main parts: Overview of Natura 2000, Frequently asked questions and Case studies.
