The 10th FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference, held in Stockholm on 2–3 June 2026, brought together ministers, policymakers, forest experts and stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of forests and forestry in a rapidly changing world. The Conference reaffirmed the central role of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) as the foundation for resilient forests, competitive forest-based economies and sustainable societies.
The Ministers adopted the Stockholm Ministerial Declaration, highlighting the importance of forests in addressing climate change, biodiversity conservation, economic development, societal resilience and preparedness. The Conference also underlined the need for stronger cooperation among European countries and stakeholders to ensure that forests continue to provide environmental, social and economic benefits for present and future generations.
As an observer organization within the FOREST EUROPE process, the Union of European Foresters (UEF) welcomes the outcomes of the Conference and strongly supports the continued promotion of Sustainable Forest Management as the key framework for Europe's forest future.
