NEW: UEF Round Table Meeting in Brussels 10 03 2020 cancelled

UEF wanted to organize its new Round Table Meeting in the European Forestry House in Brussels, on 10 March 2020.
UEF is organizing a Round Table Meetings every year in Brussels since more than 25 years.
But due to the corona virus crisis all over Europe and the world, the meeting was cancelled for obvious security reasons.
This new one was organized in cooperation and partnership with EUSTAFOR – European State Forest Association and FECOF - European Federation of Forest-Owning Communities.
The main stakeholders in forestry were expected to attend this meeting about this really interesting topic:
”Social perception of forests and image of foresters”
While the forest policy discussions on European level are almost exclusively focused on issues related to climate change, the bioeconomy and the protection of forests and forest biodiversity, the way sustainable forest management is perceived by society seems to be of increasing importance.
A keynote presentation by Christine Farcy, was scheduled to open the discussions.
Christine Farcy, responsible for International forest policy in the Wallonie region Public Service (Belgium) and associated teacher at the University of Louvain (Begium), has dealt with the perceptions, uses and the importance of forests.
Following the informal discussions a networking lunch was to be offered.
UEF is actively engaged in the process to understand better the perception of forests and foresters by European citizens, all over Europe.
More information soon on our website about our next Round table Meeting in Brussels.
And please respect all the public recommendations to prevent the corona virus dissemination!
The UEF Presidency
Co-organizers of the event:
EUSTAFOR – European State Forest Association
FECOF - European Federation of Forest-Owning Communities
UEF – Union of European Foresters
