Visit of a Finnish delegation in Switzerland and France in August 2019

From 7 to 10 August 2019, a Finnish delegation of foresters, from METO, including Stefan Borgman its president and from YT, association of forest private employeurs, had their abroad annual strategical meeting.

This year, after Slovenia and Albania, this meeting was organized in Switzerland, with a first day of visits in Geneva, on 7th August.Ilpo Puputti, vice president of UEF, organized and leaded the day

 

After a transfer to France, the meeting was hosted in the ONF (National Forest Service) Agency in Annecy.

The participants were welcomed on Thursday 8 August by the members of the local Agency, leaded by Hervé Némoz-Rajot, also vice president of UEF.

On Friday 9 of August, a fieldtour was organized to offer an overview of the French forestry in mountain forests, in the Chamonix region, in front of the famous Mont Blanc, with nice views on the mountain during a sunny day..

The participants were welcomed in the Chamonix town hall by local autorities and Loïc Hervé, French senator, president of the Union of the communities owner of forest in Haute Savoie, the visited region.

 

During the last day, Saturday 11 August, before coming back home, the participants could discover the lakeside of the Geneva lake, visiting the nice historical village Yvoire and the castle of Ripaille in Thonon les Bains, in front of Lausanne in Switzerland.

This interesting visit allowed tthe participants to strenght the links between Finnish and French foresters, members of UEF.
