The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is pleased to announce that the theme of the International Day for Biological Diversity 22 May 2019 is:
“Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health”.
This day is involved in the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020.
The theme aims to leverage knowledge and spread awareness of the dependency of our food systems, nutrition, and health on biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.
The CBD Secretariat encourages all Parties to the Convention and all organizations that deal in some way with the issue to organize activities and events to celebrate the IDB and to take advantage of it to raise public awareness, and to showcase their work on biodiversity and related achievements.
Foresters are all over Europe and the world important actors to manage and provide biodiversity.
As foresters in UEF, we naturaly support this International day for biological diversity.
