Dear colleagues around Europe, representing your UEF member organization!
The French member of UEF, EFA-CGC and the UEF Presidency have the pleasure to invite you to attend the UEF Congress 2021, which will be held in the city of Chartres, France, from 29 September (arrival day) to 3 October 2021 (departure day).
The official programme will start with an international seminar on “Which multifunctional forest management in the context of climate change?” on 30th September. This Seminar will be hosted in cooperation between UEF, Chartres Métropole, Conseil Départemental d’Eure et Loir and COVEA.
On 1st of October the Statutory UEF Congress will be held.
On 2nd of October, a fieldtrip to two forests in the Parc Naturel Régional du Perche (Natural Regional Park) is planned, also including a cultural programme.
According to the UEF Statues, proposals by member organizations for motions to be included in the agenda of the Congress must be given before the end of June to the UEF Presidency (Thomas Baschny, secretary).
A special cultural programme, including transport, visits and lunches, will be offered to the accompanying persons.
REGISTRATION
Registration can easily and only be done using the registration form on the UEF web site.
In order to help the organisation committee, please register as soon as possible, but latest 25th May 2021.
The participation of forestry students from UEF member organizations will be promoted.
The participation of one student per organization will be sponsored with a 50 % refund of the participation fees. Applications for this reduction should be sent to the treasurer of UEF, Anna Petrakieva, by E-mail: anpetrakieva(at)gmail.com (replace (at) by @) until the same date as the registration for the GCM.
Please mention the name of the student that will participate from your organization in your demand to our treasurer.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE – TRANSFER -IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Transportation to the Congress place will be organize only from International Paris Orly Airport (ORY) and from the main railway station in Chartres.
So please, when you buy your flight tickets, choose arrival at Paris Orly Airport.
There will be a meeting point with a French member of the Organizing committee waiting for you at:
Orly Airport: Bus place of “Le bus direct” company.
Chartres railway station: in the hall of the station.
The railway to Chartres departure will be from the railway station “Gare Montparnasse” in Paris.
In the railway station “Gare Montparnasse”,the railway to Chartres will be between the platforms 18 and 24. You can easily buy tickets (return tickets) at automatic counters using a credit card. You will have a train at least at every hour. The trip from Paris to Chartres by train is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
If you must come from Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle intyernational airport, (CDG), you have two possibilities: option 1: go to Chartres by train or option 2: go to Orly airport, using a direct bus “Le bus direct” from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport to Orly airport. There, you’ll find our welcoming French colleague waiting for you and organizing your direct transportation by Congress shuttle to the Congress place in Chartres.
- Option 1: From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, first use the railway “RER B” to Paris and stop at railway RER station “Denfert Rochereau” and there use the Metro line n°6 in direction “Charles de Gaulle Étoile” and stop at the railway station “Montparnasse Bienvenüe”. Then, use a direct train to Chartres (the railway to Chartres will be between the platforms 18 and 24). You can buy all the train tickets in Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport at automatic counters by using a credit card.
- Option 2 (recommended): Use a direct bus “le Bus Direct”, line n°4. It is a special direct bus between Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport to Orly airport.
All participants must give details of their flight numbers, arrival date/time and departure date/time.

EFA-CGC want to reduce the carbon cost of the Congress, using only collective transportation.
PARTICIPATION FEES
The fees for participating in the whole programme from 29th of September to 3rd of October (starting with dinner and accommodation and ending with breakfast) is 700 € per person.
Accommodation in single rooms is obligatory due to the sanitary obligations related to the COVID 19 crisis, according to French law.
(Double rooms are only available for the accompanying relatives with a congress participant. The price in a double room is 600 € per person)
