UEF XX Congress in France in a few days now!

Monday, July 12 , 2021 1715

The registration is now close to the coming XX UEF Congress in France at the end of September 2021.

The UEF Presidency and EFA-CGC, the French member of UEF and the UEF Presidency had the pleasure to inform you that the next XX UEF statutory Congress will be held in France, in the city of Chartres, 80 km from Paris.

For more information about the programme of the Congress, please go to: http://european-foresters.eu/meetings/congresses/90,0

Fot those who are very late, you are kindly invited to register yourself directly and only on our UEF website, in the meeting section: http://european-foresters.eu/meetings/congresses/90,4

Chartres is surrounded by prestigious oak forests, owned by the former kings of France.

A field trip on Saturday will offer an opportunity to discover the silviculture of these prestigious oak forests.

Chartres offers also one of the most famous gothic cathedrals in France, in an extraordinary level of conservation. The participants of the Congress will have the opportunity to visit it and to attend an amazing light and sound outside show. And to visit the famous blue stained glasses: this unique blue color exists only int this cathedral.

The Congress was primary planned at the end of June 2021.

Due to the COVID 19 virus situation, the UEF Presidency and the French organizing committee decided to postpone the Congress to 30 September - 2 October 2021.

If, for sanitarian reasons and public regulation, the Congress must be postponed or canceled, all the registred participants will have all the Congress registration's fees fully reimbursed. More details here: http://european-foresters.eu/news/335

The topic of the International seminar organized during the Congress will be: “Which multifunctional forest management in the context of climate change?”

Some International keynote speakers from France, Belgium and Sweden are invited to the seminar. The UEF delegates will be also welcomed to present the answer of there country.

The Congress itself will also discuss this really up to date topic, all over Europe and produce a UEF statement about it, in the context of the new EU forest policy.

All foresters are nowadays thinking about the forest of the future.

For sure, the future forests will be more resilient, with more diversity and will look like a kind of mosaic.

You’ll have an opportunity to have an overview of the French sustainable forest management during the fieldtrip on Saturday, in a private forest, including the visit of huts up the trees and a State oak forest near Senonches village.

The French foresters are waiting for you to welcome you from 29 September 2021 evening and to introduce you to the French way of life during this Congress.

All the necessary sanitarian protection rules will be fully respected to insure you the best conditions to attend this important event in the UEF life.

It will be also an occasion to thank our President Michael Diemer, leaving the Presidency, after years of really good job for the Union of European Foresters and the vice president Hervé Némoz-Rajot, leaving too the Presidency.
